Barbara Miller, RN, MSN, C-PMHNP
APN Behavioral Healthcare LLC was founded in 2002 by Barbara Miller. The office is located in a Victorian home in Waxahachie, TX, and it is registered with the National Register of Historic Places. Ms. Miller earned a Master's of Science in Nursing, specializing in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry from The University Of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Miller is board certified through the American Nursing Credentialing Center. She is also an assistant professor in the University of Texas Graduate Nursing Program. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in medication management, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and raising four children of her own.

Barbara Miller is certified with the American Nursing Credentialing Center as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry with prescriptive authority.

Lindsay Whitman, MA, LPC
Ms. Whitman graduated with her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. She has a wide array of mental health knowledge and experience that includes working with the elderly, adults, couples, families, adolescents, and children. She uses an eclectic approach with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. Ms. Whitman utilizes tele-counseling, which can be done from the comfort of your own home. Ms. Whitman enjoys living in the Texas countryside with her husband and children: a daughter, a son, and a daughter in heaven.



Amber Ebner, PA

Amber Ebner is a board certified Physician Assistant working under physician supervision to evaluate and treat a broad range of psychiatric disorders. Mrs. Ebner obtained her Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2011 from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Midland, Texas. Amber was born and raised in Odessa, Texas and attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and majored in biology.
    Mrs. Ebner is certified by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants and licensed through the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Her clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents and adults with attention deficit disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and chemical dependency. She believes in a conservative yet effective approach to treatment and values her patients' input regarding their treatment. Amber joined APN Behavioral Healthcare in April 2019. In her free time she enjoys traveling, volunteering, watching sports, and spending time with family.



Shelly Keough, APRN, FNP-C

Shelly Keough is a board certified nurse practitioner. Mrs. Keough obtained her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as well as through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board for pediatric nursing. Her clinical experience includes 6 years in a large hospital setting serving those in the ICU and Emergency Department for a wide array of issues including chemical dependency, self- harm, and suicidal ideation/ attempts. She also has clinical experience in outpatient working with children, adolescents, and adults with attention deficit disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression. She  believes in a holistic approach to treatment that blends traditional medicine, functional medicine, and nonpharmacologic interventions. In her spare time she enjoys cheering on her favorite sports teams (Go Cowboys!) with her husband, daughter, son, and fur babies. 


Bonny Petty, PA-C
Bonny Petty was born and raised in Round Rock, Texas. Mrs. Petty attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. She then obtained a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Midland, Texas.
Mrs. Petty has been a board certified Physician Assistant since 2011. Her clinical experience includes family medicine, urgent care, ER observation, and psychiatry. She has 7 years of experience in a level 1 trauma hospital in an ER setting, where her duties included managing psychiatric emergencies, facilitating outpatient follow up, and social services. 
She believes in the importance of connecting with her patients to help facilitate a collaborative approach to medication management as well as lifestyle modifications and therapy. She enjoys experiences with her family, jogging with her dog, Zeus, and just about anything outdoors, especially fishing on the Texas Coast.
